I'm very excited to announce Bolerosoft's first release, Memories of Old Tokyo!
This initial beta version includes a browse mode and map mode allowing you to access 14 historic postcards depicting Tokyo in the 1930s:
- Asakusa Amusement Park
- The Front Gate of Zojo-ji Temple, Shiba
- The Takarazuka Theatre
- Nihonbashi District from Kyobashi Street
- Kabuki-za Theater, Kobikicho, Kyobashi
- Ginza Street, the most representative shopping street
- The Bronze Statue of Masashige Kusunoki
- Imperial Theater and Tokyo Kaikan
- The Russian Cathedral and Hijiri-bashi Bridge
- The Front Gate of Tokyo Imperial University
- Nihonbashi Bridge and Mitsukoshi Department Store
- Haneda Airport
- The Tombs of the Forty-Seven Ronins, Sengaku-ji, Takanawa
- Flourishing Shinjuku Street
All cards have the author's commentary from 2025, and most have the original 1930s text, newly translated into English. Some cards even have updated photos from 2009 and 2024.
At least 45 postcards are planned, to be added gradually. Keep checking for updates!
